Another fun day - It's a big day for me, teaching three classes back to back, but I always leave energised and happy about the improvements our puppies are making. Well done everyone!
Our 12pm class completed their 3rd lesson. Many pups were able to hold a decent sit step away. Your challenge, for the next two weeks, class is to work your sit step away's under distraction, increase the distraction as you dog is able to hold their step away. Also work on your recall, on lead at this point.
Our 1.30pm class was our newbie class. A big welcome to all those cuties. We had a good mix of breeds and a great variation of little and big dogs - this will be helpful with future socialisation. Your homework is to work on the three stages of sit. If your dog is going well, increase the distraction with the step away.
Also look to keep your socialisation up and create as many opportunities to socialise you pup as possible.
Our 3pm adult dog class welcomed a few new faces as well as some recent puppy school graduates and even my past foster dog Lexi! We covered a great deal in that class. Keep working your sit, sit step away under distraction, remember to react appropriately if your dog pulls on the lead (as we practiced) and practice your new exercise - drop step away.
Good Luck everyone!
Remember we are not training Anzac Weekend.
