Nicole

Nicole has over 20 years’ experience working with children of all ages. With a Certificate 4 in disability, she had the privilege to work for over 15 years as a Therapy Assistant at a school for special needs students. Since 2018, she’s passionately loved working with individual students at Carlton North Primary School.

In 2019 Nicole became a dog handler for the first time through Lead the Way Institute and when Murphy came into her life in 2020, they attended puppy school before graduating together as a Visiting Therapy Dog and Handler.

Outside of work, Nicole is a wife, proud mother of 3 adult children and human mum to Murphy. She loves family time, entertaining and going to the football and nothing makes her happier than her continual support of students with her side kick Murphy.

Murphy

Murphy is a Golden Retriever born on the 7th March 2020. After completing Puppy School via Zoom with Lead the Way Institute, Murphy graduated as a Therapy Dog June 2021.

When not working with Canine Comprehension, Murphy enjoys going to work at Carlton North Primary School with his human mum Nicole. His gentle caring nature has a positive effect not only on the students he works with, but everyone who comes in contact with him.

When not working, Murphy loves nothing more than spending time with his human family and two of his brothers, Winston and Ollie. He thinks he’s a little lap dog and enjoys cuddles, walks, zoomies, playing with his many toys (a very spoilt boy) and snoozing.
