Amy is a highly creative and well-prepared mentor with a wealth of experience as an occupational therapist spanning over 15 years. After graduating from Latrobe University, she has built a diverse clinical background, working with adults and children. Amy's passion lies in making a difference in the lives of children and families through early intervention, community health, and private practice.
Amy has demonstrated a strong commitment to learning and growth throughout her career. She actively seeks opportunities to expand her skills and knowledge, completing numerous additional professional development courses to support her clients better. Amy's dedication to her profession and continuous learning underscores her drive to provide the best care to those she works with.
Amy's love for animals, especially dogs, has been a significant part of her life. When she completed therapy dog training with her beloved companion Ruby at Lead the Way, she realised the immense potential in using their bond to support and connect with children and young people.
With Amy's creativity and meticulous preparation, she is well-equipped to offer personalised and meaningful support to her clients. Amy eagerly looks forward to meeting and building strong connections with each individual she has the privilege to work with.
Ruby
Ruby is an incredibly calm and happy medium Groodle, a delightful mix of golden retriever and poodle. Born in 2019, she was one of the 10 adorable puppies in her litter! Ruby's journey as a therapy dog began with Lead the Way, where she honed her skills to bring comfort and joy to everyone she meets. Her gentle nature makes her a perfect companion for people of all ages.
Ruby simply adores meeting new people and eagerly welcomes pats and tummy rubs, always ready to brighten someone's day with her infectious enthusiasm. Playing fetch is one of her favorite pastimes, showcasing her intelligence and playfulness in every interaction.
When not hard at work with Amy, Ruby's ultimate joy lies in the loving company of her family. Cuddles with them are her favorite form of relaxation, complemented by enjoyable walks and soaking up the sun during lazy sunbathing sessions. Ruby shares a special bond with her fur brother Teddy, with whom she loves to play and have endless fun.
