What impact do we make in our students lives?

We are all about facilitating emotional growth, confidence and healthy social responsiveness. We aim to prepare our students for the challenges they will face both inside and outside of the classroom. The ability dogs have to positively engage people is well documented. Our animal-assisted interventions have the ability to improve behavioural challenges, increase emotional wellbeing, ease anxiety around learning difficulties, and support young people with autism spectrum disorders. We are also able to support those students who need a little extra motivation to get the most out of their education.

Interactions focus on:

  • Student individualised learning outcomes Mindfulness exercises
  • Effective study techniques
  • Time management
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Development of a personal tool kit to strengthen the child's approach to challenges.

As one parent put it: "This program was amazing for my kids. They loved the dog and enjoyed coming here. They learnt how to use the library and now enjoy reading books!"

The research on the benefits of animal assisted therapy facilitating positive growth in adolescents is fascinating. Take a look at our literature review papers to be informed by the evidence.
